You’ll Need:
- 1 1/4 yard of orange fabric
- 1 1/4 yard of black fabric
- 12″ diameter wire wreath frame
- spider web ornament (I found this one at Jo-Ann’s!)
- 12″ of ribbon to attach the ornament
Directions:
- Using a pinking shears, cut the fabric into 3″ wide strips.
- Tie one end of the fabric strips to one of the wreath wires and begin loosely weaving across the wire frame. Tie off onto frame when you reach the end of the fabric strip.
- Pull the loose fabric up through the spaces between the wire frame and fluff. This creates the ribbon effect.
- Tie on the alternating color and repeat the process until the wreath is completed.
- Using ribbon, tie the web ornament to the wreath so that it hangs in the middle of the wreath.
You’ll have to play around with the technique for a bit. (I know, I know– that’s what a DIY is for.) It’s a little awkward at first, so experiment with weaving the fabric so that it creates the desired effect that you want.
