Good Morning Care Package

College care packages are a rite of passage.

Well, except for me. My mom and dad never sent me a care package while I was in college. Letters and postcards, yes, but care packages? Nope. In their complete defense, they only lived about two hours away and my mom had a point: the dining hall desserts were way better than the Oreos she would send.

I  guess I was the weirdo college kid. I didn’t get care packages and I loved waking up early in the morning. While most of my friends slept in and skipped breakfast, I loved waking up, going to the gym, doing homework, and eating a bagel at the dining hall. I know, weird, like I said.

So as school gets started again, here’s a care package idea for those early birds (or for the ones who need a little push out of bed in the morning).

I created this care package around razors since they’re something that students are almost always in need of and they can be on the more expensive side for college students. A few packages of them are nice to send so students have a stockpile of them and aren’t reusing super old, dull blades. I bought these Schick babies at Dollar General.

Contents:

  • Schick Xtreme 3 razors (You can find Schick products at Walmart.)
  • find
  • filled breakfast crisps
  • coffee
  • toothbrushes
  • toothpaste
  • dental floss and picks

Other items to consider:

  • tea
  • tissues
  • powdered creamer
  • sugar
  • a reusable, insulated mug
  • ceramic mug
  • coffee pods
  • magazines
  • local newspaper
  • aftershave
  • shaving brush
  • lotion
  • nail polish

To make the box:

I used regular, ol’ Crayola markers and 12×12 scrapbook paper. I cut the scrapbook paper down to fit the inside of the top of the box and a 2-inch wide strip of paper to also fit the front side of the box.

Then, I just doodled the phrase, “Good Morning, Sunshine.”

To secure the paper, I used rubber cement so that it wouldn’t leave wet ripples in the paper.

This box is one that everyone can make– it’s easy to decorate and doesn’t take too much artistic talent (or supplies)! After all, the point of the care package isn’t how gorgeous it is, it’s how much love and thoughtfulness is put into it.

And this one gives a little bit of love every morning it’s used.

What did I miss in this college care package?
