I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Reebok. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

I am super lucky. When John and I got married, there were many things that fell into place to give me the opportunity to work remotely. I am so thankful that I can contribute to our family in this way.Working from home, though, is like anything– there’s a learning curve. And oh. My. Gosh. It took me a little bit of time to get used to working from home. Now, almost 9 months in, I think I have pretty good systems in place to keep me focused. (Or at least, I hope I do!) And, there are some things I just have to have to feel better about myself and my surroundings.

Here’s where I work– in the office John and I share. I know, I know, it’s not a Pinterest-perfect work space, but it’s getting there. Goofy, I know, but I thought that I’d finally show a little bit of about me and where I write and work from! (I decided to look exactly how I do when I “go” to work, so no judgments on my lack of makeup! :-) )

Comfy clothes

I discovered early on that I can’t be productive and wear PJs all day. It gets really depressing to wear the same clothes that I woke up in. I need to have a routine which includes dressing for work. I’m a big fan of these super stretchy skinny jean crops and my collection of sun-bleached t-shirts.

Tumbler

During a gift exchange, my friend Loren sent me a super cute personalized tumbler. I use it all the time for water and…

Diet Pepsi!

When I have a ton of papers to grade or a lot to of articles to write, I slump into my habits from college: drinking disgusting amounts of Diet Pepsi. I don’t drink coffee, so I guess this vice isn’t too bad.

White Board and Planner

If you count my blog, I juggle four different jobs at any one time (and that doesn’t count my freelance writing work). I have to stay organized so I won’t miss deadlines. I keep daily lists in my planner and weekly lists on my white board. I also keep goals on my white board so I know where I’m going and how far I’ve come.

Sneakers

I discovered Reebok’s Skyscape sneakers recently and they’ve quickly become my favorite shoe for running errands. The shoes are just 5 ounces– they really feel like the weight of flip-flops with the comfort of well padded sneakers. They’re made out the same materials and with the same technique as the foam padding in bras. (Now there’s a sentence I never thought I’d write on my blog!)They’re super comfy and go with pretty much any casual outfit! (And I feel cute in them, which is a big plus in my book as well.)

I bought these babies from Kohls.com because the brick-and-mortar stores do not sell them in my state. However, I found that the sizes and colors were true to what was advertised on the website. I’m a happy camper and can’t wait to run some errands tomorrow so that I can wear them!
