It is almost Christmas! But you still have time to make this cute, rustic ornament for your tree. Awhile ago, my dad gave me an old game of Scrabble that has two game boards and a ton of tiles. I’ve been itching to do something with it for a long time– especially with all of the nifty Scrabble crafts I’ve seen popping up on Pinterest! I decided to try my hand at it and, I have to say, I was very pleased with the final product. Try it out for yourself!

You’ll Need:

  • Scrabble tiles (1 of each: X, M, A, S, T, R; 2 of each: E, blank)
  • E6000 glue (or something comparable)
  • 5 inches of thin ribbon

Directions:

1. Lay out your Scrabble tiles on a flat surface. (I used the Scrabble box lid.) Arrange into the shape of a Christmas tree.

2. Using a thin coat of E6000, glue your tiles together in horizontal rows. (Glue the MAS and TREE row first.) Let dry for about 30 minutes.
3. Glue the MAS row on top of the TREE row. Glue X to the top of the MAS row and then glue the blank tile to the bottom of the TREE row. Let dry and cure for 24 hours.
4. To finish the ornament, glue a loop of ribbon to the back of the ornament and press the second blank tile over the ribbon and glue. Let dry and cure for 24 hours.
