Disclosure: I received product from Orange Glad for a review. I only review and endorse products that I enjoy and believe that my readers will, too. All opinions and goofy comments are my own.
Every time I finish reviewing a box for Orange Glad, I don’t think it could get better. And then they send me a box for the next month. And it’s better. The next month? It’s always better. (It’s actually really impressive– they’ve got to plateau sometime, right?) Well, they definitely didn’t plateau with this box.
The Cravory’s Salted Caramel Cream Cookie was delicious (don’t tell John I said that– I ate it when he was at work!)… but definitely not what I was expecting. And–surprisingly enough, if you know me– it wasn’t my favorite.
Instead, my favorite item from the box was Lily’s Bakery Shop’s Hamantashen. I’m not a big fan of berry jellies, fillings, and jams. It’s a texture thing– especially when there are seeds. (Yeech.) But. Oh. My. Gosh. These little hand pies were exquisite. The filling was delicious, smooth (no seeds, yay!) and was just the right sweetness. John and I each had one and we decided that they were the best thing in the box. Just excellent.
Cheryl’s Buttercream Summer Cookie was cute, but it wasn’t anything amazing. Had I had it without anything to compare it to, I would have wanted to eat half a dozen of them. But really, they just left me craving more hamantashen. (Nothing could beat those!)
The Fine Sconehenge Baking Co.’s Luscious Lemon Bar was just that– luscious and lemony. If you’re expecting a homemade lemon bar, you’ll probably be disappointed. However, it was very good– just different from the lemon bars your mom or the church ladies make for picnics. I’ve had other Fine Sconehenge products, and I have to give it to them– they don’t disappoint. Not only are their baked goods tasty and fresh, they’re also generously portioned.
Finally, Rip Van Wafel’s Traditional Amsterdam Wafel. It’s been so hot here that we haven’t had the gumption to make hot drinks and try this treat the way it’s meant to be eaten. This snack is supposed to rest over a hot drink until the filling in the middle becomes warm. I’m saving it for cooler weather!
