Now that the winter seems to finally be getting serious, we’re starting to see temperatures that are dipping to below (or well below) freezing. In those situations, hypothermia, frostbite, and/or death can result quickly, especially for some of the most vulnerable in our society: the homeless.
If you see someone outside attempting to shelter when it is much too cold to, you don’t have to turn away or feel helpless. The phone numbers below are shelter hotlines that will be able to help connect services to the person you’re calling about. Make sure that you’ve noted what the person is wearing and where they are so that the shelters and organizations can quickly find and work with that person.
