When John was deployed, he had no issues with his cell phone company. They worked well with him and, in fact, a day after he returned home, they had his phone line up and working again. (I attribute it to this simple fact: we just happened to sit down with a customer service rep who was prior Navy. He knew exactly what a pain getting everything back in order and up and running after deployment is.)
I know that that story is an anomaly. In a world of most people hating or feeling taken by their phone company, John managed to squeeze through an entire year of not having to fight with the phone company or worry that his number wouldn’t be turned back on. And that’s pretty rare.
Enter Defense Mobile. Defense Mobile is a new phone company– and the only one that specifically caters to the needs of military families… because they’re made up of military and veteran families too. If you are serving, have served, or are a military spouse, you are eligible to take advantage of the benefits of Defense Mobile’s cell phone services. It’s like having that prior Navy customer service rep… but instead of one, an entire staff of them. That’s right– Defense Mobile’s entire customer service staff is made up of veterans. They get it.

What about OCONUS? Right now we froze our cell phone account since we had to go overseas. Does defense mobile offer options for OCONUS? Cuz it would be totally awesome if we could have kept our phones and everything instead of getting Korean phones.
I’m not sure about that, however, the customer service reps would definitely know and would be able to answer those questions far better than I can. :-) (And the reps are all vets!)
